DMI to Compete in $10 Million Qualcomm Tricorder XPRIZE
Team DMI has been officially announced as one of only 34 registered teams worldwide competing for the Qualcomm Tricorder XPRIZE — a landmark 3.5-year global innovation challenge sponsored by the Qualcomm Foundation. The competition will award $10 million to the team that successfully develops a consumer-ready, mobile medical diagnostic device capable of delivering real-time health insights anytime, anywhere.
“We are honored to be competing for this distinguished prize with technologies built upon our rHEALTH® Sensor platform, developed in collaboration with NASA and the NIH,” said Eugene Y. Chan, MD, CEO of DMI. “Our system has already demonstrated the ability to perform over sixteen distinct diagnostic tests across five major clinical assay classes, and we see enormous potential to bring this capability directly to consumers across the globe.”
