Senior Scientist, Flow Cytometry Ph.D.
The DNA Medicine Institute is seeking a qualified Ph.D.-level scientist with significant practical background in the development of flow cytometry, microfluidics, and laser-induced fluorescence instrumentation. The senior scientist will be an integral member of a team developing a Universal Blood Sensor for point-of-care diagnostic applications. This individual will lead a wide-range of experiments related to cell counting, flow-focusing, and assay development. Activities include experimental design, data collection, data analysis, and analysis algorithm design. In addition, he/she will write grant proposals, patents applications, and publications.
Requirements:
The individual should have a Ph.D. in chemistry, physics, biomedical engineering, optics, or biosensors, preferably with 10+ years’ industry experience and post-doctoral training. The job is specifically focused on development of flow-based fluorescence laser measurement techniques. A background in LabVIEW programming is ideal but not required. Experience in analyzing large data sets is important. In addition to having a stellar publication record, the individual should have excellent references. The ideal candidate should be motivated, detail driven, and intellectually curious.
Medical Device Project Manager
The DNA Medicine Institute is seeking a qualified project manager with at least 10 years of experience managing medical device development and government contracts. The individual should be familiar with project schedules, documentation, meeting minutes, organization, and other processes required for FDA approval of medical devices. In addition, it would be beneficial for the individual to have experience in working with the DoD, NASA, and other government contracting agencies. Experience with budgets, project plans, and project execution and follow-up are a must. The individual will be an integral member of a team developing a Universal Blood Sensor for point-of-care diagnostic applications. He/she is expected to provide management expertise in leading multiple scientific application development projects from initiation to implementation on time, within budget, to established quality and compliance standards, taking into account work breakdown structure, schedule, resources, costs, roles, responsibilities, assumptions, and risks. In addition, he/she will contribute to development of grant proposals, progress reports, and other communications.
Requirements:
The individual should have 10+ years of practical project management experience in medical device development that also includes extensive experience in FDA regulation and documentation. A B.A. or equivalent is required but an MBA would be a plus but is not a requirement.
