The DNA Medicine Institute is a proud participant in the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC) Life Sciences Internship Challenge. Overall, the program provides summer internships for up to 150 students or recent graduates who are considering opportunities in the life sciences. DMI is a host company for the challenge and provides mentorship and meaningful projects relating to the academic focus of eligible students. Objectives of the Internship Challenge include expanding the pool of prospective employees who have practical experience, enhancing opportunities for mentoring, enabling more students to explore career opportunities despite the challenging economic environment, and providing to students interested in working in the life sciences a peer network through educational and informational networking events. Additional information about the program can be found at http://www.masslifesciences.com/grants/challenge.html.
Here is what our 2010 MLSC interns had to say about their experiences:
The MLCS internship at DMI was a great experience. I got to work on amazing technology that will make a real difference in the world and I also learned so much more about engineering, medicine, and business.
- Andrew B., M.D. candidate, Harvard Medical School
At my MLCS internship with DNA Medicine Institute, I was able to gain valuable experience as an engineer while learning about some incredible new technologies. I got to feel like a real part of the company, working on important problems and making decisions that will affect the final design of the product. I enjoyed my internship so much that I continued on as a full-time engineer at the company after the internship ended,
- Julia Z., Mechanical Engineer, DNA Medicine Institute
